As a Korean American transracial/transcultural/transnational adoptee, I am passionate about working with and on behalf of adoptees and all of those involved in adoptees lives in advocating for and providing adoption-competent, adoption-informed services that are sensitive to the needs of the diverse adoptee and adoption community.

I learned through my personal experience as an adoptee, and my professional experience as a clinical social worker and consultant working with adoptees and adoptees’ loved ones how the adoption experience, which encompasses the post-adoption experience, impacts adoptees, adoptive parents and extended families, birth parents and extended families, friends, and the communities we inhabit in more ways than any of us realize. We are also all impacted in very different ways.

I’m excited, honored, and humbled to be able to work with extraordinary individuals who all live and breathe the adoption experience in some shape or form whether it’s conscious or unconscious, or whether it holds a primary or distant place within us.

Education and Experience

The invaluable knowledge, skills, and experience I have gained as clinically trained social worker with a Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Michigan makes my approach to post-adoption services unique, and a natural fit. I have experience working as a licensed clinical social worker in roles ranging from psychotherapist, foster care social worker, and mental health clinician in private practice, public institutions, a Big Ten University student mental health clinic, non-profit organizations, and community mental health agencies with diverse populations for over 10 years. I am dedicated to “doing the work” in partnership with others to take mindful action reaching their goals and learning how to thrive professionally and personally with a more mindful and balanced approach.

I hold a license in the state of California as an LCSW (#27404) and the state of Minnesota as an LICSW (#24326). I tailor the therapy and consultation services to meet each individual’s unique needs. The most central ideas in my work focus on working collaboratively with you to develop goals aimed at increasing your self-awareness, gaining insight into past and current patterns, and identifying current struggles and personal strengths; all the while striving to create personal balance, wholeness, and an overall positive sense of well-being.

I am a Minnesota Board of Social Work board approved clinical and non-clinical licensing supervisor.
