My name is Ann Kent, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a passion for working with foster and adoptive families. As a foster/adoptive mother myself, I can relate to many of the issues my clients bring to me. I provide services in the home setting so that we can address concerns in the moment. I believe that disrupted attachment occurs in the context of relationships, and therefore should be healed in the context of a relationship. For this reason, I encourage strong parental involvement in treatment. I am trained in EMDR, and find this modality to be extremely effective for children as well as their parents who may be experiencing secondary trauma. I pull treatment strategies from the work of Daniel Hughes, Heather Forbes, and Michael Orleans/Terry Levy.
