In 1982-1996, facilitated groups at Catholic Charities for birth parents involved in decision-making around adoption or parenting. In 1996, worked as a birth parent counselor at Catholic Charities, facilitated decision-making for adoption or parenting and supported birth parents through the process of legal termination of parental rights. In 1997, began work in Catholic Charities Post Adoption Services to provide legally mandated services to adult adoptees, birth parents and adoptive parents; locate and bring into contact, adult adoptees and birth parents, counsel adult adoptees, birth parents and adoptive parents on adoption issues, facilitate adoption issues group for adult adoptees and birth parents. Pertinent training includes: Adoption Search: Ethical Considerations for Practitioners, by Patricia Martinez-Dorner (1998) and PACC (2011-12). Member of Post Adoption Inter-Agency Group, a quarterly, collaborative, state-wide meeting of post adoption social workers regarding post adoption issues, MN adoption law, agency policy/process and best practice standards.
