Jeanne Ketola holds a Master’s degree in clinical counseling and psychotherapy and is a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC). She works with foster and adoptive families and children who have been affected by neurodevelopmental disorders such as Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), Autism, as well as adoption, complex trauma and attachment issues. Jeanne was trained on Families Moving Forward, a scientifically researched program funded by CDC to help families and children affected by FASD. Ms. Ketola consults with Dr. Carmichael Olson, the developer of the program and a small team of national researchers and clinicians several times per year to discuss the protocols, results and satisfaction of the children and families being served by Families Moving Forward. Jeanne also received her Permanency Adoption Certification from the University of Minnesota and is a conference presenter on a variety of topics including FASD and Guardianship. She has attended numerous workshops and training on best practices for treating children with trauma and completed training on Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TFCBT). Jeanne has met with Congressional offices in Washington D.C. to advocate for national bills relating to Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and played a key role in changing state legislation to include FASD in the Related Conditions Definition for Developmental Disabilities Criteria. Jeanne has been recognized by NOFAS (National Organization Fetal Alcohol Syndrome) in the Tom and Linda Daschle Hall of Fame for FASD and by MOFAS (Minnesota Organization for Fetal Alcohol Syndrome) for her outstanding work as an advocate in the field of FASD. Ms. Ketola is also the parent of three adopted children from Russia.
