Kirstina received her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Minnesota Duluth. She was a Title IV-E Child Welfare Scholar in both her undergraduate and graduate academic programs which included advanced training in the area of child welfare studies. She completed the post graduate Permanency and Adoption Competency Certificate through the Center for Adoption Support and Education (C.A.S.E.) and The Center for Advanced Studies in Child Welfare at the University of MN. Kirstina is also trained in Trauma Focused CBT & EMDR. She has 10 years of experience in various aspects of social services systems including adolescent and adult mental health, child welfare, corporate foster care, and residential treatment. She is currently an adjunct faculty teaching in the social work program at the College of St. Scholastica Brainerd Campus. Kirstina specializes in working with children, adolescents, and families who have experienced various forms of abuse, neglect, and trauma. She works closely with biological, foster, and adoptive families at various stages of the child welfare, foster care, and adoption processes. Her passion also includes working with adolescents, children and families focusing on safety, mental health/emotional wellness, and holistic well-being. She also serves people facing depression, anxiety, ADHD, Post-Traumatic Stress, abuse/neglect, relationship issues, parenting difficulties, behavioral issues, infertility issues, and adjustments to blended family dynamics.
